In March 2026, Hims & Hers Health announced a strategic collaboration with Novo Nordisk, moving away from compounded semaglutide as its primary GLP-1 offering and aligning its U.S. model more closely with its international approach by offering FDA-approved GLP-1 medicines at lower direct-to-patient prices.
The shift came amid the FDA’s increasing enforcement against large-scale compounded semaglutide and the launch of TrumpRx in February 2026, a federal initiative that negotiated lower prices with Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly. Through TrumpRx, eligible patients can access substantially reduced prices for FDA-approved GLP-1 medicines, with Wegovy and Ozempic available at prices beginning around $199–$350 per month, depending on the product and dose. A separate Medicare GLP-1 Bridge demonstration, launched in July 2026, further reduced out-of-pocket costs for eligible Medicare beneficiaries to a flat $50 monthly copay.
The broader telehealth model for GLP-1 access, which had relied heavily on compounded medications at significantly lower prices, faces structural disruption. The most significant remaining question is long-term patient adherence: keeping patients on GLP-1 therapy requires clinical infrastructure that most telehealth platforms were not built to provide.
